To support people in responding to floods, the Ministry of National Defense has mobilized aircraft to transport 2 tons of relief goods to Dien Bien province.

On the morning of August 2, the Ministry of National Defense dispatched a plane to transport relief goods for Dien Bien province to take off at 7:15 at Gia Lam airport and is expected to arrive at Tia Dinh commune and the communes being isolated in Dien Bien on the morning of August 2.

The Department of Rescue - Rescue ( Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee) presided over and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to prepare a plane to transport 2 tons, including: Dried rice and instant noodles from Gia Lam airport (Air Force Brigade 918/QC PK-KQ) to Dien Bien province at the locations: Na Son Stadium; Hang Li village football field, Tia Dinh commune and ready to fly relief goods to villages in 5 communes of Tia Dinh, Xa Dung, Muong Luan, Na Son, Phinh Giang in Dien Bien province.

Previously, at 3:00 p.m. on August 1, the Department of Rescue received information from the Military Command/Military Region 2's combat mission that in Anh Trung village, Muong Hung commune, Son La province, 8 people were trapped and isolated due to floods.

The Rescue - Rescue Department has coordinated with the Air Defense and Air Force Corps 18 to agree to be ready to use helicopters and search and rescue forces on the road without crane to rescue 8 people trapped and isolated by floods.

The Ministry of National Defense has directed the 18th Corps to conduct rescue flights in Son La province.

By 5:30 p.m. the same day, August 1, the helicopter had rescued 8 people safely.

In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.
