Specific information, at 2:50 p.m. on August 1, in Anh Trung village, Muong Hung commune, Son La province, 8 people were trapped and isolated due to floods.
After receiving the information, the Department of Rescue - Rescue coordinated with the Air Defense - Air Force and Army Corps 18 to agree to be ready to use helicopters and search and rescue forces on the road without a crane to rescue 8 people trapped and isolated by floods.
The Department of Rescue and Relief requested the Ministry's Command to report to the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and the Head of the Ministry of National Defense to direct the use of a helicopter and a search and rescue force on the road without coordinating with Military Region 2, the forces at the scene rescued 8 people who were trapped and isolated.
The Ministry of National Defense has directed the 18th Corps to conduct rescue flights in Son La province. The plane number VN-8624 took off at 3:54 p.m. the same day and is expected to approach the scene at 4:50 p.m.
According to the report from the Military Region 2 combat agency, on the night of July 31 to the morning of August 1, heavy rain occurred in Son La province, accompanied by flash floods, causing serious damage to people and property.
Heavy rain caused local flooding in Pung Banh and Muong Lan communes, and no statistics on human and property damage have been released. In Lang Cheo village, Ta Xua commune alone, a landslide of 26 meters of land occurred, affecting 2 households and a kindergarten, fortunately there were no human casualties. Local militia forces have been mobilized to initial repair the situation.
