Double-digit growth, focusing on reducing flight delays and cancellations
At Noi Bai International Airport, the Minister highly appreciated the preparation of aviation units in ensuring flight safety, security and service quality for passengers during the peak Tet holiday. Promoting the application of information technology is recognized as a factor contributing to limiting flight delays and cancellations.
Reporting to the Minister, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Uong Viet Dung said that both passenger and cargo volume increased compared to the same period last year. Three key airports, Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat and Da Nang, achieved double-digit growth in passengers.
The whole market recorded 296.51 thousand passengers and 3.82 thousand tons of transported goods, corresponding to an increase of 19.38% in passengers and 118.16% in goods. Of which, domestic transport reached 131.32 thousand passengers and 314.4 tons of goods; international transport reached 165.19 thousand passengers and 3.51 thousand tons of goods.
Total operating volume at airports reached 2,783 take-offs and landings, passing through 427.84 thousand passengers and 4.14 thousand tons of cargo, all of which increased sharply compared to the same period. Noi Bai alone reached 688 take-offs and landings, 108.05 thousand passengers and 2.63 thousand tons of cargo.
Bus station: 100% of passengers have vehicles, no violations recorded
At My Dinh Bus Station, the Minister inquired about passengers waiting for buses to return home, and surveyed the actual service quality and fares. According to Pham Manh Hung, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, during the peak period from February 7 to February 16, three bus stations Giap Bat, My Dinh, Gia Lam operated more than 1,700 bus trips/day, equivalent to the same period in 2025.
The number of passengers through the station reached more than 184 thousand, an increase of 3-4 times compared to normal days; the total number of increased vehicles is 995 vehicles.
The management unit said that it has strictly controlled service quality, ensuring 100% of passengers coming to the station have cars going. Up to the time of reporting, no feedback has been received about overcrowding or illegal price increases. The highest number of passengers in My Dinh reached more than 14.5 thousand passengers/day; Giap Bat nearly 16 thousand passengers/day; Gia Lam 2.6 thousand passengers/day.
The Minister praised the organized and clean work, requesting to continue to ensure safety and convenience for passengers and promote the application of technology in management, operation, and ticket sales.
Metro and railway: Putting safety first, strengthening digitalization
At Cat Linh station, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi Railway Company Limited Khuat Viet Hung said that Hanoi metro and the Capital's public transport system are free for passengers during the 9 days of Tet (February 14 - February 22), which are positively received by the people.
The Minister requested the operating unit to review the entire technical system, signals, fire prevention and fighting; arrange forces to guide and support the elderly, children, and people with disabilities; strengthen connections with buses and taxis and promote digitization. Future urban railway lines need to immediately deploy interconnected ticket card technology.
At Hanoi Station, the Minister inspected the Tet train operation plan, requesting the railway industry to strictly implement the maintenance process for locomotives and carriages; ensure that safety equipment operates accurately; transparent ticket sales, prevent "ticket scalpers", negativity and transportation of prohibited goods. Special attention is paid to hygiene, air conditioning, domestic water, and medical equipment on trains.
According to Chairman of the Member Council of Vietnam Railways Corporation Dang Sy Manh, in 2025, production and business revenue reached 10,700 billion VND, of which transportation revenue was about 5,000 billion VND, a growth of 10% or more.
Promoting technology, traffic accidents decrease sharply

Deputy Director Pham Quang Huy said that the force is managing and operating 6 database systems, deploying AI cameras at some key routes, and strongly shifting to data-based management.
In 2025, traffic accidents decreased in all 3 criteria compared to 2024. In the first 3 days of Tet holiday, traffic police handled more than 29,000 violations, fined more than 87 billion VND; accidents continued to decrease.
The Minister assessed this as an impressive result, and requested the force to continue to promote and contribute to ensuring convenient and safe travel for people during Tet and the New Year.
