Voters in Dong Thap proposed that the Ministry of Construction study and review regulations on the protection corridor of traffic works for Rach Mieu 2 bridge.
Consider guiding and having appropriate handling solutions for cases where people's houses have existed before the project implementation time, in order to remove difficulties in building and repairing houses, ensuring harmony between the safety requirements of the project and the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
After studying, the Ministry of Construction responded as follows:
According to reports from units, in the process of organizing the implementation of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge construction investment project, the My Thuan Project Management Board (My Thuan Project Management Board) organized the planting of site clearance (GPMB) piles, road boundary marker piles and handed them over to localities for compensation within the GPMB boundary according to the provisions of the Road Law.
To date, the Project has been completed, inaugurated and put into use from August 19, 2025, and the My Thuan Project Management Board has handed over to the Dong Thap Provincial Department of Construction for management and operation from January 29, 2026.
Legal regulations on management and use of road safety corridors: The management and use of road safety corridors (including works within the scope of the road safety corridor) are regulated in Article 16 of the Road Law.
In which, land in the road safety corridor that has been recovered by the State must be managed and used according to the provisions of the Road Law, the provisions of land law, the law on management and use of public assets and other relevant legal regulations.
For land in the road safety corridor that has not been recovered by the State, land users are allowed to continue to use it according to the provisions of the Land Law and meet the provisions of Clause 2, Article 162.
Thus, for cases where people's houses have existed before the project implementation and are within the scope of the road safety corridor, the management and use of housing works will be implemented according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 16 of the Road Law.
