The Ministry of Construction has just sent a document to the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation to respond to the recommendations of local voters related to the damage of Son Thuy bridge on National Highway 16 and propose handling plans in the near future.
According to voters' reflections, Son Thuy bridge on National Highway 16 was seriously damaged after the impact of floods, causing difficulties for people's travel and transportation of goods in the area. Voters requested functional agencies to soon pay attention to investing in repair and overcoming to ensure smooth and safe traffic.

Answering this content, the Ministry of Construction said that for Son Thuy bridge, after damage occurred due to natural disasters, the road management agency has coordinated with local authorities to organize inspection and assessment of the current status of the project to have appropriate handling plans.
The Ministry of Construction said that the remediation, repair or new construction investment of traffic works on national highways must be considered in the overall medium-term public investment plan, based on the level of urgency of the project as well as the ability to balance capital sources. Therefore, the Ministry will coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to study and report to competent authorities for consideration according to regulations.
While waiting for the implementation of long-term investment solutions, the road management agency will continue to monitor the situation, implement measures to ensure traffic safety, and minimize the impact on the travel and daily life of people in the area.
The Ministry of Construction also requested the Thanh Hoa Provincial National Assembly Delegation to continue to inform voters about the results of handling petitions, and at the same time coordinate with relevant agencies in the process of reviewing and proposing investment plans for the Son Thuy bridge project on National Highway 16 in the coming time.
