On September 4, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Military Region 7 coordinated with Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee to organize a send-off ceremony, assigning tasks to Teams K70, K71, K72 and K73, starting phase XXVI, dry season 2026-2027, searching for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Cambodia during the wars.
Over the past 25 years, Teams K of Military Region 7 have stuck to the area, stuck to the people, coordinated with the government, Army and people of Cambodia to search, repatriate and repatriate martyrs' remains. To date, Military Region 7 has repatriated more than 12,000 martyrs' remains, organized repatriation, memorials and solemn and thoughtful burials.
Especially in the XXV phase, the 2025-2026 dry season, despite the large area, weather, terrain and information sources facing many difficulties, 4 Teams K still surveyed, searched and collected 603 sets of martyrs' remains. This result continues to show the spirit of responsibility, determination and persistence of officers and soldiers on duty in friendly lands.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7, praised officers and soldiers of Teams K for being ready to leave their families, leave their homeland, stick to the area, stick to the people, and perform tasks with a high sense of responsibility and deep affection.
In the XXVI phase, the teams were assigned to complete the target with 185 pieces of information about 761 martyrs' graves, and at the same time strive for each Team to collect at least 100 sets of martyrs' remains after each march. This is also a task contributing to the implementation of the "500-day and night campaign to promote the search, collection and identification of martyrs' remains", towards the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2027.
As long as there is information and search capabilities, we must continue our journey full of affection, responsibility and gratitude" - Major General Tran Chi Tam emphasized.
Immediately after the send-off ceremony, officers and soldiers of Teams K70, K71, K72 and K73 were sent off by people, officers and soldiers of the armed forces, union members, and youth through Binh Hiep International Border Gate, Tay Ninh province, to perform duties in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The new journey continues to extend a mission that has lasted for more than 25 years - searching for the children who sacrificed and bringing them back to their motherland.
