On January 25, Cao Bang Provincial Police Detention Center organized a "Family Meal" model for 3 prisoners with good rehabilitation records.
At the program, 3 prisoners had the opportunity to meet their relatives in a warm, harmonious atmosphere, like a Tet meal of every Vietnamese family.
Traditional dishes such as banh chung, pickled onions and other Tet specialties are prepared by the inmates themselves with the support of detention camp staff.
Speaking at the program, the leader of the Cao Bang Provincial Police Detention Center emphasized: “A family meal is not just a regular meal but also a bridge to help prisoners and their relatives share and encourage each other to overcome difficulties. This is also an opportunity for prisoners to look back at themselves, determined to reform well to soon reunite with their families.”

Relatives of the inmates expressed their emotions: “These moments are truly precious to our family. We are grateful to the detention camp officers for creating conditions for the family to be close to and encourage their loved ones to reform well.”
The “Family Meal” model not only contributes to educating and reforming prisoners but also clearly demonstrates the humanity and lenient policies of the Party and State in the execution of sentences. This is a bright spot in the management and education work at the Cao Bang Provincial Police Detention Center, especially during the sacred traditional Tet holiday of the nation.
