On October 3, Mr. Vo Duc Dien - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Tung Commune (Quang Tri Province) confirmed that the commune had handed over the abandoned newborn baby girl to the family after completing the necessary procedures.
"After the commune issued a notice to find relatives of the baby abandoned in a private garden, 3 days later, Ms. N.T.H (2001, Nam Cuong village, Vinh Hoang commune, the baby's biological mother) came to ask to take back the baby" - Mr. Dien informed.
According to Mr. Dien, due to family conflicts, Ms. H took her child to her grandmother's house, left it under a pepper tree and left.
To verify that Ms. H was the child's mother, the locality conducted a DNA test, the results were accurate, so the child was handed over to the family.
Previously, on the morning of September 24, while gardening, Ms. H.T.G in Huong Bac village (Cua Tung commune) discovered a newborn baby girl abandoned in the garden next door. She took the child home for temporary care, then reported it to the local authorities and took him to Vinh Linh Regional General Hospital for health check-ups.
