According to the reporter's records, at around 9:30 a.m. the same day, the groups of flights took turns flying through the central sky of Ho Chi Minh City after departing from Bien Hoa and Dong Nai airports. This is an activity to prepare for the parade on the occasion of April 30, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) of the Air Defense - Air Force.
The air force mobilized 10 Mi 8, Mi 17, 6 Y 130 training fighter jets and 7 Su 30 MK2 fighters. This is the first time a large number of fighter jets have practiced and performed in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City.
Each group flies about 3-5 minutes apart, the helicopter flies in a 3-4-3 formation, fighters in each group 3-4 aircraft, the first group is 1-2 km apart. When arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, the plane will move from the An Phu area (Thu Duc City) in, along the Saigon River and then to Dinh Doc Lap.
In the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, the plane was at an altitude of 350-400 m, going out to the riverbank in Ben Bach Dang without being entangled with buildings that had dropped to about 200 m.
In the proposed plan, the aircraft will travel twice around the central area of Ho Chi Minh City and then return to Bien Hoa. Tomorrow (March 28), the aircraft will take a tour and release heat from Ben Bach Dang to Landmark 81 if the weather conditions are favorable.
Previously, the Ministry of National Defense surveyed and painted a map of the flight area in the city center, in coordination with civil aviation to agree on flight options and routes, ensuring absolute safety.
According to the plan, the air force will perform many complex acrobatics, fly separately, rotate, and release heat traps to perform in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.
Many people present in the Dinh Doc Lap area could not help but be excited, looking up to the sky to watch and praise every time a plane passed by. Many people present said they felt very proud and moved when witnessing this scene, especially when the April 30 grand festival was approaching.
Ms. Duong Anh Hong (42 years old, living in District 3) said that this was the first time she had seen a performance with such a large, magnificent and impressive number of fighter jets.
"It feels like our country is developing more and more strongly, more advanced, more modern. That is the pride not only of me but of all Vietnamese people," said Ms. Hong.
