On April 29, information from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province said that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has signed Decision No. 1474/QD-UBND approving the investment policy for the urgent repair project of Vinh Hung Special National Archaeological Relic in Chau Thoi commune.
The project has a total investment of more than 14.4 billion VND from the provincial budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province is assigned to be the investor, with implementation time from 2026 to 2028.
The goal of the project is to overcome the serious degradation of the relic due to the impact of time, harsh weather and climate change.

The main items include building a system of trenches to prevent water and drain water around the tower area and the entire campus; preventing encroachment on the foundation and body of the tower; building a structure to cover the entire ancient tower area with a sustainable structure, suitable for the heritage landscape.
Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee requests the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant units to implement the project in accordance with regulations. The Department of Finance advises on capital allocation, inspection, and supervision of progress and efficiency of budget use.
Vinh Hung Archaeological Relic was ranked as a National Special Relic by the Prime Minister according to Decision No. 694/QD-TTg dated July 18, 2024. This is a typical ancient architectural work of the Mekong Delta region, with great historical, cultural and archaeological value.
The investment in relic restoration is expected to contribute to preserving cultural values, while creating more motivation for the development of historical and cultural tourism in the locality.
