On August 23, Deputy Director of Ca Mau Provincial Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Minh That affirmed that the province has not yet had a policy to continue arranging commune-level administrative units.

Before the information spreading on social networks that Ca Mau will continue to arrange and reduce the number of communes and wards, the Department of Home Affairs requested departments, agencies, branches of the province, and People's Committees of communes and wards to officially inform officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, and people.

The Department of Home Affairs requests that information must be ensured to be timely, accurate, and consistent, avoiding the emergence of unverified information that affects public opinion.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is requested to coordinate in guiding and orienting propaganda content on the grassroots information system and information platforms under its management.

Recently, a hypothetical project about arranging commune-level administrative units in Ca Mau has appeared on social networks, according to which the province is reduced from 64 communes and wards to 27 communes and wards.
