On October 4, Lieutenant Colonel Doan Cong Nghiep - Head of Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station (Ca Mau Province) said that the unit had sent many officers, soldiers and vehicles to support towing and salvaging the sunken fishing boat to shore safely.
Previously, at 3:30 p.m. on September 30, Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Ho Van Nho (born in 1972, residing in Tan Thuy Commune, Vinh Long Province), owner of fishing boat BT 93185 TS, captained by Mr. Huynh Thai Bao (born in 1989, residing in Tan Thuy Commune, Vinh Long Province). Also on the boat were 2 crew members, working in the trawler net.

The fishing boat departed for the Song Doc estuary, Song Doc Commune, Ca Mau Province at 5:00 p.m. on September 29, and at 3:30 a.m. on September 30, while operating about 3 nautical miles from Hon Chuoi Island, was sunk by waves. At this time, fishing boat BT 92637 TS operating nearby promptly rescued the crew members to board the boat safely, fishing boat BT 93185 TS sank.
Immediately after receiving the report, Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station sent 10 officers and soldiers, using the unit's vehicles and dispatched fishing boat CM 02850 TS of Mr. Le Van Cat (born in 1986, residing in Song Doc commune, Ca Mau province) to immediately go to sea to rescue.
However, due to big waves and strong winds, rescue and towing work encountered many difficulties. After many days of rescue, at about 6:30 p.m. on October 3, the fishing boat in distress was towed to Hon Chuoi Island. The estimated property damage is about 400 million VND.
Currently, Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station and fishermen are continuing to support fishing vessels in distress to overcome the consequences and towing them to shore for repair.
