The number of visitors increased sharply due to prolonged holidays
Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company forecasts that the number of passengers passing through bus stations during the April 30 - May 5 holiday will increase by more than 300% compared to normal days. The 5-day holiday, which coincides with the opening of the Summer tourist season, and is not yet in the stage where students take the exam, has contributed to increasing travel demand.
The increase in domestic airfares has caused many people to choose nearby tourist destinations, using lower-cost means such as cars, trains, etc. Therefore, the number of visitors at bus stations is expected to increase sharply compared to the same period last year.

It is expected that the number of passengers at Giap Bat Bus Station will be about 20,000/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days; Gia Lam Bus Station will be about 8,000/day, an increase of about 300%; My Dinh Bus Station will be about 22,000/day, an increase of more than 350%.
To serve the needs, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company has planned to increase a total of 625 vehicles, including: Giap Bat: 262 vehicles; Gia Lam: 83 vehicles; My Dinh: 280 vehicles. The number of vehicles is flexibly distributed by day, by route, depending on actual needs.
The increased vehicles are mainly mobilized from transport units operating fixed routes. If necessary, Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company will use a reserve team to ensure uninterrupted service to the people.
Three major bus stations (My Dinh, Giap Bat, Gia Lam) are required to develop flexible operating plans, ensuring security and order, fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation, and creating favorable conditions for transport units to operate.
Along with that, the coordination with functional forces to inspect and supervise the implementation of transport regulations, tighten discipline and improve the quality of passenger service was also emphasized.
Buses are ready to "shared the fire" with bus stations
Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco) said that passenger traffic from April 30 to April 4 will increase by 1.5 to 2 times compared to the usual weekend.
Bus routes with ends/finishments or passing through major wharves such as Giap Bat, My Dinh, Gia Lam, Nuoc Ngam, Yen Nghia, and transit points such as Long Bien, Cau Giay, Nhon are forecast to be very crowded.
The number of visitors is mainly concentrated on routes passing through the entertainment area such as Thu Le Park, Thong Nhat, Water Park, Aeon Mall Long Bien, Ha Dong, Royal City, Times City..., said a representative of Transerco.
Representative of Anh Huy Dat Cang bus company, Mr. Vo Van Vo (Hanoi - Ha Long route) said: "Although many customers have booked in advance, due to the short route, many people travel by private vehicle. If there are many customers, the bus company will mobilize more vehicles, committing not to increase ticket prices during the holidays".
At Nuoc Ngam Bus Station, Chin Nghia Bus Company (Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route) said that customers are expected to start crowding from April 28 to May 5. Most passengers have booked tickets early, we will have a suitable coordination plan, the representative shared.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Director of Nuoc Ngam Bus Station - said that he has instructed staff to strictly implement the holiday service plan, requiring bus companies not to carry overloaded goods, not to transport prohibited goods, not to increase ticket prices, and coordinate in handling the situation of picking up and dropping off passengers in violation of regulations.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - Director of Giap Bat Bus Station - also said that the station has arranged forces to coordinate with the police and traffic inspectors to prevent "brokers", suppression, price increase, and overloading. Bus companies must sign a commitment to fully comply with regulations during peak season.
