The Vietnam Road Administration requires units to release BOT stations when necessary during the holiday to handle traffic congestion.

The Vietnam Road Administration has just requested solutions to ensure traffic order and safety during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

According to the Vietnam Road Administration, the 5-day holiday is the time when people's travel demand increases, posing a potential risk of traffic jams and accidents.

To effectively serve the needs of the people and ensure smooth and safe traffic, the Vietnam Road Administration has directed units to implement many synchronous and proactive measures in management, operation and inter-sectoral coordination.

In particular, the Vietnam Road Administration recommends that project enterprises coordinate with functional forces to have a reasonable traffic diversion and regulation plan, when necessary, open station gates to handle traffic congestion according to regulations. Units must clear areas at risk of traffic congestion, especially at gateways to and from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and major tourist destinations.

Enterprises implement measures to ensure security and order at toll stations, especially on key traffic routes.

Units have timely response measures when incidents and accidents occur; have plans to arrange human resources to coordinate with functional forces to organize and regulate traffic when congestion occurs.

The Vietnam Road Administration requires road toll stations to have a plan to increase on-duty personnel.

Units need to check and review the addition of traffic sign system, especially traffic routes with high traffic volume (highway, National Highway 1 ...), intersections, sections of road with high slopes, small radius, limited visibility, ferry terminals, road pontoon bridges.

Units increase forces to organize traffic assurance, divert traffic, and guide vehicles to circulate when necessary, especially on main routes in and out of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and large cities, tourist attractions, and entertainment areas.

To ensure effective management of road transport activities, the Vietnam Road Administration recommends that construction departments strengthen coordination with the police and check the technical safety conditions of transport vehicles and drivers of transport vehicles. Publicly announce on the mass media the hotline number to receive people's feedback on the situation of traffic order and safety.

Strengthen inspection and supervision on routes to promptly prevent and handle the situation of illegal vehicles, illegal stations, passenger transfers and illegal acts.

For transport business units, it is necessary to thoroughly educate drivers to comply with road traffic regulations and regulations of the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order and other relevant regulations when participating in traffic.
