In just a few hours, the new communes and wards in Phu Tho province (after the merger) will officially come into operation. On the morning of June 30, the urgent atmosphere appeared in many localities, when cadres and civil servants were busy completing the cleaning, transferring equipment and arranging workplaces, ready to serve the people from July 1, 2025.
The new Phu Tho province was established on the basis of merging 3 provinces: Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh. After the merger, the province has 148 communes and wards. In reality, communes and wards are making efforts to complete the final stages to officially operate in the new administrative apparatus.

At the People's Committee of Hoa Binh Ward (Hoa Binh City), from early morning, trucks were busy moving documents and furniture to the new headquarters. The ward was established on the basis of merging 7 old wards: Dong Tien, Huu Nghi, Phuong Lam, Quynh Lam, Tan Thinh, Thinh Lang and Trung Minh, becoming the most populous ward in the new Phu Tho province with more than 78,600 people.
The new Hoa Binh Ward People's Committee headquarters has been completely installed. The electronic board also updated new administrative information. At the public administrative center, although there is still one more day to officially operate, people have come to ask for information and performed some simple procedures. Many officers have been on duty, ready to support people to get acquainted with the new unit.
Ms. Hue - a judicial and civil status civil servant of the old Quynh Lam ward - is currently working at the Department of Culture - Society, Hoa Binh Ward People's Committee. "In the past few days, we have worked day and night to move things and arrange work at the new headquarters. The mood was a bit nervous but also very excited because this was a big turning point in local administration, she shared.
Not only in urban areas, but also in remote communes, preparation work has been implemented in a spirit of urgency. Quyet Thang commune (Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province) was established from the merger of 3 communes: Quyet Thang, Chi Dao and Dinh Cu. With a population of over 22,000 people, this is an administrative unit with many characteristics of terrain and population.

To ensure effective operation from the beginning, Quyet Thang commune is currently arranging working headquarters at 2 locations: the government block is located at the old Chi Dao commune headquarters, the Party block and the working union at the old Quyet Thang headquarters.
According to Mr. Son - civil servant of the Office of the People's Committee of Quyet Thang Commune, in recent days, the commune has been highly focused on completing operating conditions from July 1, 2025. Before the merger, Mr. Son was Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quyet Thang commune; currently assigned to work at the new commune People's Committee Office. I know that there will be difficulties in the first phase, but I am very excited and will try to complete the assigned tasks well, he said.

Local people also have high expectations for positive changes from the new government apparatus. Mr. Bui Van Nam - a resident of Chi Dao commune - said that the merger is a historical milestone, opening up opportunities for development. "I hope the administrative procedures will be more favorable, especially hoping that the new province will pay more attention to the disadvantaged areas. Chi Dao has Doi seed specialty that has been recognized as OCOP at the provincial level. Hopefully this product will be invested in and promoted better," Mr. Nam shared.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, most communes and wards in the new Phu Tho province have basically completed the conversion of the sign system, arranging workplaces and mobilizing cadres and civil servants. All work is being urgently completed to ensure that the new administrative units operate synchronously, best serving the people from July 1, 2025.
