On the morning of March 26, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced the temporary traffic organization adjustment on Long Bien Bridge to serve the emergency repair of the road section on both sides of the bridge, ensuring safety for the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line.
According to the plan, the entire road section on Long Bien Bridge will prohibit motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles from circulating in both directions during the construction period.
In the direction from Bo De ward to Hoan Kiem ward, vehicles are not allowed to travel across the bridge, they can move in the direction of Long Bien 1, Long Bien 2, then go along the Long Bien - Xuan Quan route to Chuong Duong bridge.
In the opposite direction, from the Hoan Kiem area to Bo De, motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles are also not allowed to cross Long Bien bridge. Vehicles are guided to move from Yen Phu, Hang Dau directions along Tran Nhat Duat street, up the roundabout at the beginning of Chuong Duong bridge to cross the bridge. For vehicles from Tran Quang Khai, dike 401, the travel route is similar, focusing on Chuong Duong bridge to replace.
During this time, Chuong Duong bridge is adjusted to allow bicycles to travel in both directions on the mixed lane to support people's travel needs.
The implementation time of the traffic diversion plan starts from 9:00 AM on March 28, 2026 to the end of May 27, 2026, lasting 60 days.
The Department of Construction requests the construction unit to barricade the entire area, install a complete system of signs and traffic lights, ensuring safety for traffic participants, especially at night. At the same time, arrange forces to coordinate with traffic police and local authorities to guide and divert traffic from afar, minimizing the risk of congestion.
The Traffic Police force is requested to coordinate traffic regulation, and at the same time adjust the traffic light system at key intersections such as Hang Dau - Tran Nhat Duat and the area at both ends of Long Bien bridge, in accordance with the increased traffic volume.
The relevant ward authorities are responsible for widely informing people, coordinating to organize traffic diversion, ensuring traffic order and safety throughout the construction process. Functional units are also assigned the task of inspecting and closely monitoring the implementation, and promptly handling if congestion or traffic unsafety arises.
