Hanoi will temporarily ban all roads for rudimentary vehicles on Long Bien bridge from Bo De ward to Hoan Kiem ward for 61 days.

According to the announcement of the Hanoi Department of Construction on the plan to adjust traffic organization to serve the construction of the Tran Nhat Duat bridge periodic repair project at Km2+215, on the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line (phase 2).

According to the plan, during the construction period, the entire road for rudimentary vehicles on Long Bien bridge from Bo De ward to Hoan Kiem ward will be temporarily closed to traffic. The road closure will last for 61 days, from November 1 to December 31, 2025. During this time, vehicles will travel in the direction of Long Bien - Xuan Quan road through Chuong Duong bridge.

In the Tran Nhat Duat street area, the construction unit will organize barriers and regulate traffic within the project area. Specifically, from October 1 to November 22, 2025, a mobile fence will be established, occupying about 6.5m of the road surface, the remaining 6.5m will be kept for traffic.

Next, from November 16 to December 21, 2025, a hard fence will be erected, occupying 5.6m of the road surface, leaving 8m for vehicles to move.

Notably, from November 16 to November 30, 2025, for 14 consecutive nights (from 10pm to 4am the next morning), the construction unit will expand the mobile barrier by 9.6m, leaving only 4m of road surface for vehicles to circulate.

The time to apply the traffic adjustment plan starts from 0:00 on November 1, 2025 to 24:00 on December 31, 2025.

The Hanoi Department of Construction requires the investor and the construction unit to fully arrange barriers, reflective wires, signs, lighting, and night warning lights to ensure safety for people and vehicles. The construction unit must closely coordinate with the Hanoi Urban Traffic Management and Operation Center, the Traffic Police force and local authorities to regulate and guide remote traffic flow to avoid congestion in the construction area.

In addition, contractors need to prepare on-duty plans, vehicles, equipment and human resources to promptly handle when there are traffic incidents; at the same time, provide full communication to authorities. In case of traffic insecurity, infrastructure damage or accidents, the construction contractor must take full responsibility and fix the original state.

The Department of Construction also requested the Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police to coordinate in guiding and regulating vehicles, ensuring safety, avoiding congestion; the People's Committees of Bo De and Hoan Kiem wards to propagate and widely notify people in the construction area to grasp and proactively move. The Transport Inspectorate will supervise the correct implementation of the traffic diversion plan, while the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board is responsible for inspecting, directing, and promptly handling if violations are detected during construction.

According to the Department of Construction, traffic adjustment is necessary to ensure progress and safety for the Tran Nhat Duat bridge repair project, while minimizing the impact on people's travel. This agency recommends that units, organizations and people strictly comply with the traffic diversion plan to ensure safe and smooth traffic throughout the construction period.
