Hanoi allows motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles, and pedestrians to circulate on Long Bien bridge (Bo De - Hoan Kiem direction) from January 1, 2026.

Hanoi Department of Construction has just announced the restoration of the traffic organization plan on Long Bien bridge after completing the project: Periodic repair of Tran Nhat Duat bridge Km2+215, Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line.

Accordingly, allowing motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles, and pedestrians to circulate on Long Bien bridge (Bo De - Hoan Kiem direction) on the pedestrian road, motorbike road and rudimentary vehicles (according to the plan when traffic organization for bridge repair construction has not been adjusted).

Implementation time is from 0:00 on January 1, 2026.

The Department of Construction requests the investor and the construction unit to recover the entire system of traffic signs to serve traffic diversion arranged according to Notice No. 1262/TB-SXD dated October 29, 2025, No. 1272/TB-SXD dated October 30, 2025 of the Department of Construction and restore the system of status signs (before adjusting the traffic organization for bridge repair construction).

The investor and the construction unit are fully responsible for ensuring traffic safety for vehicles passing through Long Bien bridge.

The Department of Construction requests the Traffic Police Department - City Police to coordinate in guiding the adjustment of traffic organization for vehicles participating in traffic to ensure traffic safety and avoid traffic congestion.

It is requested that the People's Committees of Bo De and Hoan Kiem wards coordinate to organize propaganda and notify people around the construction area to know and direct relevant functional forces to coordinate and guide traffic participants according to this notice.

The Transport Inspection Department organizes inspections of implementation to ensure compliance with traffic diversion notices and traffic safety assurance work. Timely report to the Department of Construction on traffic organization inadequacies.

The Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board inspects and supervises the compliance with the contents specified in the notice, including the work of recovering inappropriate traffic sign systems after restoring traffic organization on Long Bien bridge and related roads.
