In recent days, Tho Ut bridge (bordering Binh Duong ward and Vinh Tan ward, Ho Chi Minh City) is being reinforced. This is an important bridge located on DT 742 road, the bridge spans Suoi Cai.
According to reporters' records, Tho Ut bridge was built previously with 4 lanes across Suoi Cai. This stream was originally a swampy area, with overgrown grass and trees. Now Suoi Cai is being dredged, paved with stone under the canal, concreted and embanked on both sides.
When constructing the Suoi Cai dredging project to the section passing through Tho Ut bridge, the bridge was retained, but it must be reinforced to suit the design of the Suoi Cai project. To reinforce Tho Ut bridge, the construction unit built a temporary bridge for vehicles to pass through.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that the Department has announced a ban on vehicles traveling in both directions on Tho Ut bridge. Vehicles will travel through the temporary bridge until the Suoi Cai dredging project section through here is completed.
Currently, the contractor is reinforcing the foundation of Tho Ut bridge. Units are building steel piles to pour concrete on both sides of the bridge foundation. Under the bridge deck are made stone cages to protect the bridge foundation. At the same time, the access road section from DT 742 to Tho Ut bridge is being rebuilt.
In parallel, the construction unit organizes the construction of concrete embankments on both sides of Suoi Cai section adjacent to Tho Ut bridge. It is expected that the reinforcement of Tho Ut bridge and the construction of Suoi Cai through this section will be completed in 2026.

DT 742 road will be expanded to 4 lanes
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the city is carrying out procedures to invest in the project to upgrade and expand DT 742 road. The project will expand DT 742 road from 2 lanes to 4 lanes, synchronously with the section through Tho Ut bridge. The total investment of the project is 7,767 billion VND.
