Urgently overcome key points
Lam Dong has hilly terrain, many roads pass through long passes, with steep slopes, posing a high risk of landslides during the rainy season.

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province said that during the time Lien Khuong airport is temporarily closed for maintenance, transport pressure is concentrated on roads.
National Highways 20, 27, 27C and 28 are playing a role in connecting Lam Dong with the Southeast, South Central Coast and Central Highlands.
In the 2025 rainy season, many heavy rains caused taluy landslides, soil and rocks overflowing onto the road surface, affecting traffic and tourism.
Faced with the risk of landslides, the Lam Dong Department of Construction has directed to strengthen on-site inspections, review key points and develop response plans before the rainy season.

Specialized working groups are established to inspect bridges, roads and protection works on key routes.
Units also prepared materials, vehicles and traffic diversion plans, ready to handle incidents when they occur.
According to Mr. Vo Xuan Anh - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Road Maintenance Management Board, the unit is implementing 16 projects to overcome and reinforce damaged traffic infrastructure on key national highways and passes of the province.

To date, 5 landslide remediation projects on National Highway 20, National Highway 27C and National Highway 28 have been completed with items of reinforcing slopes, building retaining walls, treating roadbeds and drainage systems.
Many other projects are expected to be completed in June 2026, especially 3 projects at Gia Bac Pass and Pass 52 striving to be completed in the near future.
Ensuring smooth traffic
According to Mr. Vu Tien Lam - representative of the Lam Dong Road Maintenance Management Board, Bao Loc Pass is a specially monitored area due to frequent landslides in the rainy season.

The unit has coordinated with forces to strengthen on-site inspection, clear drainage systems, arrange 24/24 hour duty and prepare vehicles to handle when soil and rocks spill onto the road surface.
On National Highway 28 and 28B, many sections passing through dangerous terrain are being reinforced in a long-term direction such as widening the roadbed, building retaining walls and treating taluy slopes to limit landslides.

The construction sector thoroughly grasps the "4 on-site" motto, is ready to mobilize forces and vehicles to coordinate with traffic police and local authorities to quickly handle incidents and limit traffic disruptions.
According to the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, traffic safety assurance work still faces many difficulties due to the complex hilly terrain, many landslide points located on narrow passes with steep slopes.

Handling landslides requires large-scale technical solutions such as reinforcing slopes, building drainage systems, and treating roadbeds.
Faced with the requirement of adapting to climate change, Lam Dong is accelerating strategic transport projects such as Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, Phan Thiet - Bao Loc - Gia Nghia and Nha Trang - Da Lat.
According to the province's orientation, the data of landslide points will be digitized, combined with an early monitoring and warning system to improve forecasting, traffic regulation and disaster response capabilities.

For Lam Dong, transportation is not only an economic infrastructure but also plays an important role in tourism development.
Therefore, handling landslide risk points and improving the capacity of transport infrastructure is identified as a key task, ensuring travel safety and creating a foundation for sustainable socio-economic development.
