On March 5, the working group of the Road Traffic Police Team No. 1, in coordination with the Traffic Command and Traffic Light Team under the Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police, handled violations of traffic light compliance at the Cua Nam - Le Duan intersection (Hoan Kiem District).
Recorded during the working shift, the working group only discovered 2 cases of motorbike drivers violating.
Notably, the violators after being stopped by the authorities for inspection and reporting the error all said that they did not violate at all.

For example, Mr. D.H.L (residing in Hanoi) driving a motorbike with license plate 30H7-19XX did not comply with traffic light signals (running a red light - PV). When the working group stopped to check, Mr. L thought that there was a bus in front so he could not clearly observe the light signal, but when he entered the intersection, he still saw a blue light.
Immediately afterwards, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 showed Mr. D.H.L the image of the violation recorded by the surveillance camera system at the intersection.
"Maybe at that time I saw the right turn signal wrong, so I still passed through the intersection when the light went straight and turned red. With such a clear image, I accept to sign the penalty notice. Next time I will be more careful when I go out," Mr. L. shared.
For the above violation, the driver was administratively fined 5 million VND and had 4 points deducted from his driving license.

According to the Traffic Command and Traffic signal team, the surveillance camera will automatically collect images of violating vehicles, then transmit them to the Command Center.
This camera system works well in bad weather conditions and at night thanks to being equipped with a modern infrared lighting system.
"When receiving the image, the on-duty officers will notify the traffic police teams on duty on the route to stop the vehicle and handle the violation. In case the vehicle cannot be stopped, it will be recorded to handle the fine," said an officer of the Traffic Command and Traffic signal team.

The authorities also stated that since Decree 168 took effect, people's awareness of complying with the law on traffic order and safety has been significantly improved, the situation of vehicles running red lights, especially motorbikes, is no longer the same as before.
