Recently, the People's Committee of Dong Da district (Hanoi) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to synchronously renovate the technical infrastructure of the urban landscape Dong Da lake. The project will be implemented in the period of 2024-2026.
According to Lao Dong's records on the afternoon of August 11, after a month of construction, the Dong Da Lake renovation construction unit is installing corrugated iron sidewalks around the lake and placing guard booths to prepare for repairs to the interior items.
The current state of some structures such as railings, sidewalks, pedestrian paths around Dong Da Lake... are damaged and degraded. Furthermore, shops occupying sidewalks for parking make the scene very messy.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, a resident of O Cho Dua ward (Dong Da) said that the renovation and beautification of Dong Da lake should have been done a long time ago because the lake is increasingly degraded and cannot meet the living, entertainment and recreational needs of the people.
“The sidewalk above is completely occupied, there is no space to walk, the lake shore is overgrown with grass, and many bricks are peeling off. The district is renovating Dong Da Lake, so people are very excited, but after the work is finished, we need to manage order and security better,” Ms. Tho suggested.
Every day, he goes to exercise around Dong Da lake. Mr. Nguyen Van Minh shared that people were extremely supportive when they heard that Dong Da lake was being renovated, eliminating the unkempt landscape here.< /p>
“I hope that the construction units and government agencies can quickly complete the renovation of Dong Da Lake according to the committed schedule.
Hopefully, after the project is completed, people in the area will have a green, clean and beautiful space to play and relax," Mr. Minh added.
Regarding the scale of the renovation project, Dong Da Lake has a lake surface area of about 12.5 hectares, the lake embankment length is 1,900 m (of which the Dong Da district boundary is 1,550 m and the Ba Dinh district boundary is 350 m)
The renovation includes the following items: Paving the entire surrounding sidewalk, expanding and upgrading the walking path below on the basis of the existing embankment with rough-surfaced natural stone; replacing the degraded and damaged railing system around the lake; planting new trees, replacing some shade trees that are rotten, leaning, broken, and not of the urban tree type; arranging a system of carpet trees and decorative shrubs interspersed with the seating system and walking path along the lake; replacing the existing lighting system on the sidewalk and installing additional lighting systems for the walking path below.
In addition, landscape highlights such as outdoor stages and stands will be added, extending out to the lake at Hoang Cau and Mai Anh Tuan streets without changing the area and capacity of the lake surface.
The leader of People's Committee of Dong Da District affirmed that the district has directed the investor, construction contractor, supervision consultant, and specialized departments of the district to implement the project on schedule and with approved technical quality to soon complete and put the project into operation and effective use.
