On August 26, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi visited and surveyed the Renovation and restoration project of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base and Vinh Long - Con Dao Connecting Ferry Terminal.
At the Renovation and restoration project of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base, the Civil and Industrial Project Management Board of Vinh Long province reported on the progress, scale and ongoing items.
The project has a total investment of 140 billion VND from the provincial budget, implemented in the period 2025-2028, including 34 items divided into two investment phases.
Phase 1 includes 21 items, currently constructing 16/18 items under the construction package, with a production value of about 11.059 billion VND, equivalent to 50% of the contract value.

According to the Project Management Board, phase 1 is expected to be completed in September 2026. Phase 2 is completing the draft plan, and at the same time deploying procedures related to compensation, support and resettlement.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi cordially inquired and encouraged workers who were constructing in unfavorable rainy and windy weather conditions; and at the same time requested the contractor to focus manpower and materials to speed up progress.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that accelerating the progress must go hand in hand with ensuring quality, labor safety, technical and aesthetics, so that the project promotes its historical and cultural values after completion.
At the Vinh Long - Con Dao connecting wharf, a project with a total investment of nearly 80 billion VND is completing the works to be handed over and put into operation, serving the needs of waterway connection.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi requested relevant units to urgently complete procedures to change the purpose of use from inland waterway wharves to waterway ports, creating conditions to soon put the project into operation.
According to Ms. Muoi, when operating, the wharf will open up new development directions for local tourism and the Mekong Delta region, connecting spiritual, sea, historical, cultural and energy industry destinations.
In which, the connecting route may be associated with Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Ba Dong beach, wind power, thermal power, Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base, the weapons receiving wharf of the unnumbered train and the Memorial Area of Composer - People's Artist Vien Chau.
The synchronous completion of projects, connecting transport infrastructure with unique destinations is expected to contribute to forming an inter-regional tourism chain, increasing attractiveness and extending length of stay.
