On May 14, Mr. Tran Van Lau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term of Vinh Long province, together with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and departments and agencies, inspected the reality at key projects in Truong Long Hoa and Duyen Hai wards.
At the Provincial Party Committee Base relic, phase 1 of the project is under construction, reaching 33% of the contract value, but is currently about 12% behind schedule. Some items such as memorials and camps are being focused on rough construction and sand foundation. The investor proposed to urge the construction unit to speed up progress to ensure completion according to the contract. At the same time, the unit proposed to soon deploy compensation and site clearance for phase 2 of the project.

At the Con Tau Weapons Reception Wharf relic, the current state of the display house and the gate system are degraded, causing difficulties for management. The personnel force here is still very thin, currently there is only one interpreter and security and cleaning staff. Functional agencies propose to allocate a budget of about 18 billion VND to invest in repairing degraded items in the coming period. At the same time, specialized agencies are completing dossiers to submit for special national relic ranking in October 2026.
In Ba Dong Tourist Area, the current 10.81 ha plan is assessed as not having enough space to develop commensurate with its potential. The service business activities of people and businesses here are still fragmented and lack connection. The locality proposes to study expanding the planning of the entire beach area, synchronously connecting with neighboring tourist destinations. It is necessary to continue investing in transport infrastructure and coastal embankments to create aesthetics and prevent landslides.
The Dan Thanh Inland Waterway Port project has now reached 95% of the contract volume, basically completing the wharf and access road items. The project is striving to complete all items and put them into use immediately in May 2026. The management unit proposed to soon carry out procedures for announcing the wharf and acceptance to ensure safe operation. The tourism industry needs to build a civilized passenger reception process and invite businesses to exploit the Con Dao route.

Concluding the inspection, Mr. Tran Van Lau requested agencies and units to urgently remove difficulties in capital and land to accelerate the progress of key tourism and transport infrastructure projects.
Provincial Party Secretary emphasized the need to create unique and high-quality tourism products to attract tourists, while linking tourism development with environmental protection.
He noted that local authorities must pay attention to state management, ensure good security and order and food safety, and create a civilized and friendly tourism environment for sustainable development.
