Can Tho plans to support 200,000 VND/month for preschool children who are children of workers

Can Tho - Can Tho City People's Committee has a Submission stipulating the level of support for preschool children who are children of workers and laborers working in industrial parks.

According to the plan, tomorrow (April 29), Can Tho City will organize the second session (specialized session) of the 11th City People's Council (HĐND), term 2026 - 2031. The session focuses on considering and deciding on many important issues for the overall development of Can Tho City.

Can Tho City People's Committee has submitted a draft Resolution of the City People's Council stipulating the level of support for preschool children who are children of workers and laborers working in industrial parks, where there are many workers; preschool teachers working in private and semi-public preschool education institutions in areas with industrial parks, where there are many workers in Can Tho City.

Subjects of application

Through surveys, in Can Tho City, there are currently 2,654 children studying at private preschool education institutions with parents/caregivers who are workers and laborers working in industrial parks, where there are many workers.

Can Tho has 282 teachers working at preschool education institutions in areas with industrial parks, where there are many workers directly caring for and educating children at nursery groups/classes with 30% of children being children of workers and laborers working in industrial parks, where there are many workers.

According to this submission, the subjects of application are as follows:

Children studying at preschool education institutions of the private and semi-public type that have been licensed by competent authorities to be established and operate in accordance with regulations have a father or mother, or the caregiver or nurturer of the child is a worker or employee working in industrial parks with a labor contract signed by the enterprise according to regulations; employees working in places with many workers.

Preschool teachers working at preschool education institutions of the private and semi-public type that have been licensed by competent authorities to establish and operate according to regulations in areas with industrial parks, where there are many workers.

In which, it is necessary to ensure the following conditions: having a standard training level for the title of preschool teacher according to regulations; having a labor contract with the legal representative of a private, semi-public preschool education institution; directly caring for and educating children at nursery groups/classes with 30% of children being children of workers and laborers working in industrial parks, where there are many workers.

Level of support for subjects

For the above-mentioned subjects, children are supported with 200,000 VND/child/month. The above support period is calculated according to the actual number of school months but not exceeding 9 months/school year.

For preschool teachers, they will be supported with 800,000 VND/teacher/month. This support level is outside the salary level agreed between the owners of private and semi-public preschool education institutions and teachers and does not use the calculation of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance benefits. The time to enjoy support is calculated according to the number of actual teaching months in the school year.

According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the estimated funding for support is about more than 6.8 billion VND/year from the state budget.
