Can Tho's summary report on administrative reform work for the period 2021-2025 shows that the city has achieved many outstanding results in administrative reform work. According to the National Public Service Portal, the level of satisfaction has increased over the years: in 2022 it reached 81.98%, in 2023 it reached 93.08%, in 2024 it reached 97.68% and in 2025 it reached 94.67%.
Can Tho City has deployed a satisfaction assessment system via Zalo, allowing people and businesses to respond after completing administrative procedures. This data is used to evaluate the performance of each agency, unit and related cadres and civil servants.

However, according to the assessment of Can Tho leaders, up to this point, the rate of online records and payments is still low; information technology infrastructure and equipment are not yet synchronous, affecting work progress...
In particular, the situation of delays in handling administrative procedures still occurs. As reported by Lao Dong newspaper, in mid-May 2025, on the Electronic Information Portal, the City Public Service Portal, the Can Tho City People's Committee Office sent a list of agencies, organizations and individuals who are slow or late in handling administrative procedures and public services periodically in April 2025.
Accordingly, the list includes 6 units and 7 individuals who are slow or late in handling administrative procedures and public services for 8 records. 6 agencies include: Co Do District People's Committee, Ninh Kieu District, Phong Dien Town and Giai Xuan, Truong Xuan A, Thanh An Communes. The 7 individuals named above belong to the above agencies and units.

To overcome the shortcomings and towards the goal of comprehensive improvement, at the Conference summarizing administrative reform work for the period 2021-2025 on the afternoon of May 26, Vice Chairman of Duong Tan Hien City People's Committee requested agencies and units to focus on implementing a series of key tasks.
In particular, Can Tho identifies administrative reform as an important political task. Regarding administrative procedure reform, the city will strive to simplify the process, minimize delays; focus on land, construction, and business registration.
According to Mr. Hien, Can Tho will promote online public services and carry out administrative procedures regardless of administrative boundaries.
Regarding organizational reform, the city will continue to streamline the organizational apparatus to be more effective and efficient; improve the quality of the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees to meet the requirements of the new period.
