Can Tho assigns tasks to the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee

Can Tho - On October 29, the People's Committee of Can Tho City issued a decision on assigning tasks to the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee.

Accordingly, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen leads and comprehensively manages all activities under the functions, tasks and powers of the City People's Committee. Monitor and direct the Department of Home Affairs, the City Military Command; City Police; City Inspectorate, City Statistics.

Directly direct the following areas: developing and organizing the implementation of planning and plans for economic and social development; public investment plans; financial and budgetary plans; administrative reform; inspection and prevention of corruption, negativity, and waste; citizen reception; national defense and security; personnel work, government building; international and regional cooperation and linkage programs. The Chairman also maintained contact with the Government, central ministries, branches, Military Region 9, the City Party Committee, the City People's Council and relevant agencies in the area.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Hoa is assigned to be in charge of the following areas: transportation, construction, urban development, housing management and development, real estate market, urban technical infrastructure, development of economic zones, industrial parks and industrial clusters. Mr. Hoa monitors and directs the Office of the City People's Committee, the Department of Construction, the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones, the Management Board of Transport and Agricultural Projects, the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects to use official development support capital.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vuong Quoc Nam City is in charge of the fields of finance, budget, banking, Industry and Trade, investment promotion, trade, business development and foreign economy. Mr. Nam monitors the Department of Finance, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Investment - Trade Promotion Center and Exhibition Fair, the Development Investment Fund, state-owned enterprises under the management of the city. Directs the implementation of national target programs and Politburo Resolutions related to private economic development and ensuring energy security.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Khoi is assigned to be in charge of the fields of science, technology, education, training, human resource development, ethnicity, religion, social security, labor and employment and people's policies. Mr. Khoi follows the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the Institute of Economics and Social Affairs, universities and colleges under the City People's Committee. At the same time, he directs the implementation of programs on innovation, digital transformation and educational development.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep is in charge of the fields of culture, sports, tourism, health, foreign affairs, radio and television and social protection. Ms. Diep monitors the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Department of Health; Department of Foreign Affairs; City Social Insurance; Social Policy Bank; civil works projects. She directed the implementation of target programs on cultural development and people's health care.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Hung is in charge of the fields of agriculture and rural development, resources and environment, climate change response, sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, cooperative economy and justice. Mr. Hung monitors the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Justice, the Cooperative Union, high-tech agricultural areas and the field of handling complaints and denunciations according to decentralization.

The decision takes effect from the date of signing and replaces Decision No. 526/QD-UBND dated July 4, 2025 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.
