According to the Lao Cai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 4 hours (from 10:00 p.m. on August 9 to 2:00 a.m. on August 10), many places in the area had moderate to heavy rain. Ta Cu Ty and Bac Ha communes alone recorded nearly 90mm of rain. Other areas will have scattered showers.
It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, some areas in Lao Cai province will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, accumulated rainfall from 10 to 20mm, some places over 50mm.
Prolonged heavy rain increases the risk of flash floods, landslides on steep slopes, traffic slopes and subsidence. The warning of natural disaster risk is level 1, threatening the safety of people's lives, possibly causing traffic jams, damage to infrastructure and houses.
In the face of the above situation, the Lao Cai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station - Hydrological Station requested Vinasarcom province and local authorities to be at high risk, such as: Bac Ha, Ban Lau, Nghia Do, Ban Lien communes, Pha Long, Cao Son, Si Ma Cai, Lung Phinh, Sin Cheng, Muong Khuong and Ta Cu Ty to urgently inform and propagate so that people can proactively prevent; prepare rescue and relief plans, and overcome if flash floods and landslides occur.
