According to the warning, in the past 1 hour, from 11 pm on September 22 to 0 am on September 23, Khanh Hoa province had heavy to very heavy rain. Some places recorded heavy rain such as Ninh Thuong 72mm, Da Ban 3 basin 42.8mm.
The soil moisture model shows that some areas in Khanh Hoa province are almost saturated, with moisture levels above 85%, or reaching saturation.
In the next 6 hours, Khanh Hoa province will continue to have rain, with common rainfall from 10-20mm, in some places over 50mm.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on slopes in Khanh Hoa province, especially in communes and wards including: Anh Dung, Bac Ai, Bac Ai Dong, Bac Khanh Vinh, Cong Hai, Dien Dien, Hoa Tri, My Son, Ninh Son, Trung Khanh Vinh, Tu Bong, Van Hung, Van Ninh, Van Thang.
The level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, subsidence due to rain, floods or currents is warned at level 1.
According to the meteorological agency, flash floods and landslides can have adverse impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives, cause local traffic congestion and affect the movement of vehicles.
These phenomena can also destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production activities and socio-economic activities.
Previously, from September 22, moderate to heavy rain appeared widely in Khanh Hoa province. In some areas of Nha Trang, heavy rain caused localized flooding on some roads.
Although dangerous extreme weather phenomena have not been recorded, functional agencies of Khanh Hoa province have requested localities and units not to be negligent and proactively deploy timely response measures to heavy rain developments.
