Warning about vehicle inspection fraud in Vinh Phuc

Vinh Phuc - Many subjects impersonated leaders and employees of motor vehicle inspection centers to call people to commit fraud.

On November 20, the Department of Transport of Vinh Phuc province informed that in the area, there was a phenomenon of subjects impersonating leaders and employees of the motor vehicle inspection center calling vehicle owners to inform them about the contents such as cars about to expire inspection and need to renew inspection; the inspection center changes the new inspection stamp, asking people to update the inspection stamp model; the information declared at the inspection center is incorrect, need to provide personal information for updating.

The scammers instructed people to pay only 10,000 VND to 30,000 VND to automatically extend the new registration period.

It is also recommended that vehicle owners purchase compulsory civil liability insurance while the insurance is still valid.

However, when transferring money into the account, the scammer uses the following tricks such as sending a link code or QR code and asking to follow it to complete the renewal, from which they can steal other account information such as bank, Zalo, phone...

According to Deputy Director of Vinh Phuc Department of Transport Pham Tuan Giang, based on legal regulations on motor vehicle inspection activities, up to now, there are no more vehicles eligible for an extension of the inspection period.

All administrative procedures are carried out at vehicle inspection centers and all fees and charges have valid invoices and documents according to the provisions of law.
