The Command (BTL) of Coast Guard Region 4 is the core force in law enforcement, protecting security, sovereignty, order and safety in the sea area from the North bank of Dinh An Gate, Tra Vinh Province to Ha Tien Cape, Kien Giang Province. This is a sea area with an important strategic position in terms of politics, economy, national defense, security, and foreign affairs.
In recent years, the Party Committee and BTL of the Region have led, directed and synchronously implemented solutions, successfully completed the political tasks assigned in the 2020-2025 term. Actively research, evaluate and forecast the situation, especially the situation related to sovereignty, sovereignty, national jurisdiction in the DK1 region, the western waters of the Southwest;
Timely advise the Party Committee and the Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard on policies, countermeasures, and proper, flexible, and effective handling of situations, avoid being passive or surprised, contributing to firmly protecting sovereignty, maintaining security, order, and safety in the management sea area.
In performing the task, the soldiers have been regularly trained to improve their qualifications, combat readiness, and quality to improve day by day, meeting the requirements and tasks of protecting national sovereignty and interests at sea. Closely coordinate with Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, and Soc Trang localities to review human resources, ships, and civil means of transport participating in the fight to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands and participate in drills with localities to ensure absolute safety, close to practical conditions.
Actively innovate training forms and methods. attach importance to synchronous, in-depth training, close to the Coast Guard's tasks, and training in mastering modern weapons and equipment.
In particular, in performing the task of fighting against crime, improving the effectiveness of reconnaissance work to grasp the situation, patrol, inspect, control and maintain law enforcement at sea, fighting against crime, violations, combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and illegal entry and exit. Confiscate nearly 10 million liters of DO oil, nearly 84,000 kg of scrap iron, and more than 230,000 tons of fertilizer. Arrested 44 cases/48 subjects for illegal drug trafficking, transportation, and possession; The total amount of money collected from fines and sales of assets confiscated for administrative violations is nearly 181 billion VND.
Closely coordinate with local government committees and functional forces to implement the mass mobilization program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen", the contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland"; directly propagate to more than 104,300 fishermen, distribute more than 113,000 leaflets and documents of all kinds and present more than 10,200 national flags.
Coordinate with forces in exchanging situations and deploying forces and means for search and rescue at sea, fighting forest fires, helping people overcome natural disasters, epidemics, and cleaning the marine environment, which is trusted, recognized and highly appreciated by the government and people.
With the achieved results, from 2020 to 2025, the Regional Command was awarded the Second Class Victory Medal by the President (2024); The Ministry of Defense offers a emulation flag (2022); BTL of the Coast Guard donated 2 emulation flags (2020, 2023); The Ministry of Defense awarded 11 certificates of merit; Kien Giang People's Committee awarded 2 certificates of merit; 1 individual was awarded the Second Class Victory Medal by the President; There are 451 collectives and 1,090 individuals who are rewarded by all levels.
The Regional Party Committee has led the unit to successfully complete the political tasks for the 2020 - 2025 term, which is an important basis and premise for the Party Committee to conduct well the preparation work and successfully organize the 6th Regional Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
