In harmony with the atmosphere of preparing to welcome the traditional Lunar New Year of the nation, on February 14-15, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, the Command (BTL) of Coast Guard Region 4 organized the "Green Chung Cake" Contest, creating a joyful, united and rich atmosphere of traditional cultural identity.
Participating in the Contest were 4 teams from 9 agencies and units under the Regional Command, along with twin units in the stationed area. The teams must complete 5 pairs of cakes within the prescribed time, ensuring squareness, uniformity, beauty, and firmness; organize cake cooking on time and in the assigned location.
With the enthusiastic encouragement of their teammates, the teams showed dexterity and meticulousness in each cake. Strong hands familiar with the training ground and training ground now become skillful when wrapping square Chung cakes evenly.
This is not only an emulation activity but also an opportunity for officers and soldiers of the Region Command to review national traditions and understand more about the meaning of banh chung on Tet. Thereby, contributing to educating tradition, fostering love for the homeland and country while improving the spiritual and cultural life of soldiers, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere during the Tet holidays and Spring coming. Encouraging soldiers to love and stick with their units more, feel secure in their work, raise vigilance, be ready to fight, strictly maintain military discipline, and successfully complete all assigned tasks.
The "Green Banh Chung" contest is not only a traditional beauty but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for officers and soldiers to firmly hold their guns, steer their steering wheels, and be assured to be on duty, protecting peace for people to celebrate Tet in the Southwest sea of the Fatherland.
At the same time, at the Naval Flotilla, Naval Team, and Coast Guard Station directly under Coast Guard Region 4 Command also simultaneously organized the "Green Chung Cake" Contest.
Senior Lieutenant Le Hoang - Political Commissar of Fisheries Surveillance Vessel 320 of Fisheries Surveillance Flotilla No. 3 - Coast Guard Region 2 Command shared: "Today we participated in the green banh chung wrapping contest at Naval Flotilla 401. When working far from home to perform Tet duty at a friendly unit and being able to participate in this meaningful activity, officers and soldiers feel very warm, connected and learn from each other.
Lieutenant Bui Huy Hoang - Political Commissar of CSB ship 2002, Naval Flotilla 401, Coast Guard Region 4 Command said: "The naval commander and superiors have created conditions for the unit to organize a green banh chung contest, thereby helping officers and soldiers throughout the unit have a very meaningful and joyful experience in the first days of the new spring.
Major Hoang Manh Hung - Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Flotilla 401 shared: "As a judge, I assess that the competing teams are very actively preparing from ingredients, participating in elaborately wrapping cakes. Many comrades participated in wrapping cakes for the first time but have promoted the spirit of responsibility to the team to unite to have the most beautiful cakes to bring to the contest".
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Niem - Political Commissar of Naval Flotilla 401 informed that this year's difference is that the twin units have also sent forces to participate with officers and soldiers. The joyful and excited spirit of officers and soldiers creates a very exciting atmosphere, everyone participates very enthusiastically. The contest also contributes to encouraging officers and soldiers to stay and feel secure to celebrate Tet with the unit, helping officers and soldiers celebrate Tet away from home but still cheerful and warm with comrades.
The pots of red-hot cakes overnight not only warm the barracks but also ignite faith and determination to successfully complete all assigned tasks. Preserving the soul of Vietnamese Tet in the remote islands, so that each Coast Guard officer and soldier is more steadfast at the forefront of the waves, full of faith in the Party, Fatherland and People.
