On February 24, according to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the expansion of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway is a large project with 10 contractors participating in implementing 2 main bidding packages.
The main construction teams focus on excavating soil at high positions, pouring soil at low positions to prepare the ground, towards expanding from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. The entire project has a total length of 98.73km, of which the section through Quang Tri province is 37.3km long and the section through Hue city is 61km long.

Although construction has started since after Tet, the increased traffic volume at the beginning of the year forces the construction unit to adjust the progress. The maximum speed on the expressway is currently adjusted down to 50km/h to ensure safety for traffic participants. At locations with risk of soil and rock falling onto the road surface, vehicles will be stopped by the hour to ensure no accidents occur.
We deployed construction teams from the 6th day of Tet, but had to hold back due to the excessive traffic. After the 10th day of Tet, when traffic returns to normal, construction will be more convenient," said a representative of the Project Management Board.

The Cam Lo - La Son expressway has been operating since the end of 2022 with 2 lanes, and has now completed 21km according to the 4-lane standard. The expansion project will upgrade the road to 4 complete lanes, helping to reduce congestion and improve traffic quality. The total investment of the project is up to 7,669 billion VND and is expected to be completed in 2026.
