The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway project has a total length of 60 km, passing through 7 communes and wards of Lang Son province with a total adjusted investment of 11,808 billion VND.
According to the project enterprise, on a scope of more than 59km that has been handed over land, contractors are mobilizing 2,599 personnel, 1,195 equipment, deploying 131 construction teams on 5 bidding packages.

The accumulated realized value reached approximately 4,956.26/7,949.8 billion VND, equivalent to 62.34% of the contract value.
At package EC02 (Km14+500 - Km30+087) undertaken by Lizen Joint Stock Company, many roadbed items have been basically completed.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan - Commander of the bidding package - said that right from the 3rd day of Tet, the unit simultaneously launched operations.
“We arranged overtime, working through noon in conditional sections, focusing on completing the foundation, spreading crushed stone grades and accelerating asphalt concrete paving. The goal is to compensate for the slow progress and aim for the completion milestone of the entire route before April 30, 2026,” Mr. Tuan said.
According to data, many items achieved high rates such as excavating the foundation over 92%, filling the K95 foundation over 97%, drilled piles and prestressed concrete girder casting approximately 98%.

In the sections undertaken by Deo Ca Group, the construction teams of bridges, civil tunnels, and taluy reinforcement are organized "3 shifts, 4 teams".
Mr. Tran Van Quan - Director of the Management Board - said that the Management Board has reviewed the entire roadmap, flexibly coordinated human resources between bidding packages, prioritizing completing sections that can be asphalt concrete paved early.

In parallel with construction, site clearance work still has some shortcomings.

Currently, there are still 28 households that have not moved houses according to FS documents, 16 households have land problems and 66 households are related to supplements according to technical design documents, along with some locations of technical infrastructure and landfills that have not been handed over.
Previously, on the 4th day of Binh Ngo Tet 2026, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directly surveyed the field and inspected the implementation of the two expressway projects Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) and Huu Nghi - Chi Lang.
Here, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway project is of particular importance to Lang Son province and the Northeast region; contributing to completing the border gate expressway, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and strengthening trade connections.

The head of the Government requested quick construction, completing as soon as possible so that the project can be put into operation soon.
At the same time, requesting contractors, along with taking care of workers' lives, to increase productivity, increase shifts, accelerate further, create a vibrant emulation atmosphere at the construction site, and be determined to complete the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway before April 30, 2026.
