On March 24, Song Tu Tay island clinic (Truong Sa special zone) is treating an emergency for a fisherman who had a labor accident while fishing at sea.
The patient is Mr. Nguyen Tan Pha (34 years old, from Gia Lai province), a diver on boat BD 98291 TS.
According to accompanying fishermen, at about 6 am on March 23, while fishing in the area about 4 nautical miles north of Da Nam island, Mr. Pha unfortunately hit a heavy cable in his chest, then fell and hit his back against the hard ground.
At 5:15 pm on the same day, the patient was taken to Song Tu Tay island clinic in a state of alertness, good contact, no fever.
Through examination, doctors noted that the patient did not have bruises in the chest area, but pain appeared in some areas of the abdomen and both sides of the ribs.
Doctors diagnosed the patient with closed chest and abdomen injuries, monitoring soft tissue injuries due to a workplace accident at the 11th hour after the accident.
After professional consultation, the team of doctors and nurses proceeded with treatment using immobilization, intravenous fluids, pain relievers, anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants. Currently, the patient is being closely monitored to promptly handle arising situations.
