On May 16, according to the Decision of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, the Co Chien 2 bridge construction project will be implemented on the southern coastal corridor, connecting An Qui commune with Long Hoa commune across the Co Chien River.
The project is identified as a grade I, group B traffic project, with a total length of about 1,919m. The bridge deck is 22.5m wide, including 4 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles, prestressed reinforced concrete structure.
The approach roads at both ends of the bridge are invested according to level III plain road standards, design speed of 80km/h. The total investment of the project is about 3,500 billion VND from the central and local budgets.
In the capital structure, construction costs account for more than 2,600 billion VND; compensation, support and resettlement costs are more than 107 billion VND. The project is expected to be implemented in the period from 2026 to 2029.
According to Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, Co Chien 2 bridge after completion will contribute to completing the coastal road in the Mekong Delta region, strengthening regional linkages and promoting local socio-economic development.
