In February 2026, when people are rushing back and forth to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, at the Phuoc Khanh bridge construction site (belonging to the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway), the working atmosphere is still urgent.

Phuoc Khanh bridge is identified as a key item, the final "bottleneck" to close the entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway. This is a backbone traffic axis connecting the two economic regions of the East and Southwest, directly reducing the load on Ho Chi Minh City's transport infrastructure, opening up a strategic connecting axis, shortening travel time to Long Thanh International Airport.

Mr. Phan Van Quan - Project Director of J3-1, Deputy Director of Bac Trung Nam Infrastructure Construction Joint Stock Company (one of the two contractors constructing the project) - shared: "Immediately after receiving the site in May 2025, we determined that this was a sprint campaign. A team of experienced engineers and workers who have implemented large projects such as My Thuan 2, Rach Mieu 2 were also mobilized to accelerate progress and strive to complete the project as soon as possible.

The most impressive point of Phuoc Khanh bridge is the modern cable-stayed design with a navigation clearance of up to 55 m - one of the bridges with the highest clearance in Vietnam today. This design allows ships with a tonnage of 30,000 tons to safely travel to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster without being obstructed.
Mr. Hoang Dang Hau - construction officer at the construction site - said that so far, the entire project has reached over 95% of the volume. "We are highly focused on the main cable-stayed girder part. The bridge pier and foundation system is specially designed to withstand impacts from large ships, ensuring the lifespan of the project in harsh conditions in the river mouth area. According to the plan, with the current construction speed, Phuoc Khanh bridge is expected to be joined in May 2026 and opened to traffic in the third quarter of 2026," Mr. Hau said.

To race against the golden time milestone, the construction unit has developed a plan to organize construction throughout the Lunar New Year 2026. About 100 engineers and workers will stay at the construction site to ensure that the flow of work is not interrupted.

Not only worrying about sufficient salaries and bonuses, the unit also pays special attention to taking care of spiritual life, striving to bring the atmosphere of "Tet construction site is like Tet at home", helping bridge workers reduce homesickness, firmly stick to their positions to maintain the construction flow throughout Tet.
When Phuoc Khanh bridge is completed, the dream of a modern expressway connecting from Tay Ninh through Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai will become a reality, breaking the unique position of National Highway 1 and the existing Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, opening up a new development space for the entire region.
