The project to Repair span, bearing, and pier structures to ensure the safety of exploitation of Thanh Tri bridge was approved by the Hanoi Department of Transport before (now the Department of Construction) according to Decision No. 3298/QD-SGTVT dated August 8, 2024.
This is a project belonging to Group C, with a total investment of 119.5 billion VND invested by the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board (under the Hanoi Department of Construction).
According to the reporter's investigation, on March 27, the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board issued a bidding invitation for Package No. 07: Construction and ensuring traffic safety of the project.
Package No. 07 was widely bid through the network, with a price of more than 52.5 billion VND from the regular expenditure fund of the city budget.
In the near future, after having the contractor selection results for Package No. 07, the winning bidder will deploy the construction and repair of span structure, bearings, and piers to ensure the safety of exploitation of Thanh Tri bridge.

According to technical requirements, Package No. 07 will repair items such as:
For bridge pillows: bridge pillows on girder span I: Replace all damaged pillows with new pillows; install steel plates to block pillows for 378 bridge pillow positions; add a suspension ladder system for monitoring and regular inspection because the pillows have shown signs of surface aging and slight subsidence...
For bridge piers: Treat cracks in the pier body and bearings to protect the steel core from corrosion; paste fiber around the pier body to enhance long-term load-bearing capacity.
With the span structure: Pumping glue to treat and monitor the development of cracks at the fuse position; supplementing an LED lighting system in the beam box to serve the maintenance, repair and repair of the project.
For expansion joints: Replacing joints on abutment A2 with grout joints; repairing and installing expansion joints for positions of girder girders instead of pillows, including 12 joints on pillars; locally repairing and replacing broken concrete joints and reusing grout steel plates at pillars T44 (upstream) and H33 (downstream).
With auxiliary parts: Replacing the existing median strip with a hard reinforced concrete median strip to separate the lanes for motorized and rudimentary vehicles to ensure safety; clearing soil, sand, and weeds on the median strip; adding reinforced concrete panel lids, reinstalling steel fences to ensure aesthetics and prevent pedestrians from crossing the road.
The completion time of the bidding package is no more than 180 days.
