The An Phu intersection project, a key traffic project with a three-story scale with a total investment of more than 3,400 billion VND, is entering the final sprint phase.

Mr. Le Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Management Board (Traffic Management Board) said that the investor is mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery to accelerate the progress of two key items to serve the increasing travel demand at the end of the year.
According to the latest regulation plan, the N2 overpass branch of package XL11 will be the first overpass item of the project officially put into operation from December 31, 2025.

According to Lao Dong's records, the construction volume has reached over 95%, and units are busy completing the final stages such as constructing expansion slots, marking roads and installing signage systems.
The bridge is designed to be curved in a U-shape for 800 m of length, allowing cars to travel in one direction from the direction of the Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, turning right directly into Mai Chi Tho Avenue to go in the direction of Vo Nguyen Giap.

Right next to the overpass, the HC1-02 underpass is also being accelerated to be opened to traffic before January 15, 2026. This item currently reaches about 75% of the volume, playing an important role in leading the flow of vehicles from the expressway turning left to Mai Chi Tho Avenue towards Thu Thiem tunnel.
The combination of a four-lane underpass and a modern overpass will create a continuous traffic axis, connecting synchronously with the Ba Dat and Giong Ong To bridges that were completed before.

Although it once encountered difficulties leading to delays compared to the initial plan, putting the main segments into use right before the 2026 Lunar New Year has strategic significance.

When the entire project is completed in the middle of next year, this largest intersection in Ho Chi Minh City will not only help eliminate traffic bottlenecks at the eastern gateway, but also lay a solid foundation for regional connectivity, especially improving the efficiency of operation of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway and serving Long Thanh International Airport in the future.
