December 19, in Dong Thap province. The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway expansion investment project has officially started construction.

This project passes through Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh Province and Dong Thap Province, implemented under the form of a BOT contract with 100% capital mobilized from the private sector. The consortium of investors for this project is Deo Ca Group, Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, Tasco Joint Stock Company, Hoang Long Construction Investment Corporation - JSC, CII Services and Investment One Member Co., Ltd.

Previously, on November 26, 2025, the Ministry of Construction issued a Decision approving the investment project to build and expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway under the public-private partnership method.
According to this decision, the Minister of Construction approved the investment project to build and expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway under the public-private partnership method.
This project has a starting point of Km9+325 at Cho Dem intersection (in Tan Nhut commune, Ho Chi Minh City), the end point of Km105+454 at the northern end of My Thuan 2 bridge (in An Huu commune, Dong Thap province), with a total investment of VND 36,172.41 billion, the project implementation period is from 2025, completed and put into operation in 2028.
The goal of this project is to reduce traffic congestion, along with the transport projects being exploited in the area, to form a complete transport network in the Southern Key Economic Zone and gradually complete the Mekong Delta expressway network.
At the same time, contribute to meeting the transportation needs from the Southwestern provinces to Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region and provinces across the country; create space and momentum for regional space development with a synchronous technical infrastructure system, social infrastructure, connect economic centers, international border gates and seaports; improve competitiveness, create momentum to promote regional economic development; contribute to ensuring national defense and security; gradually successfully implement socio-economic development goals and strategies according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
