On September 12, Mr. Huynh Hoai Nam - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, Director of the Soc Trang Ward Public Administration Service Center (Can Tho City) said that from September 15 to 26, 2025, the locality will coordinate with Soc Trang Province Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to pilot the online birth registration model for children at the Hospital.
Accordingly, during the 2 weeks of implementation, civil servants of the Ward Public Administration Service Center and youth union members will directly support parents and relatives of newborns in performing administrative procedures: birth registration, permanent residence registration and health insurance card issuance for children under 6 years old right at the Hospital.
After this period, hospital staff will continue to support people, and ward civil servants will provide remote guidance via phone or Ultraview software when requested.
Mr. Nam said that the model aims to facilitate conditions, reduce travel time, improve the quality of administrative reform and encourage people to access online public services.
The leader of Soc Trang Ward People's Committee added that the locality is currently implementing the "Saturday for the People" model to facilitate people in accessing and performing administrative procedures.
Accordingly, every Saturday morning, from August 16 to September 27, 2025, people can go to the People's Committees of hamlets, cultural houses, schools or suitable locations to carry out many procedures such as: registration of birth, death, marriage; issuance of copy of household registration record; certification of copy; admission confirmation; recognition of poor households, near-poor households; issuance, exchange of disability certificate; confirmation of residence; instructions for submitting online documents; supporting the installation of VNeID application, opening bank accounts...
The program also combines propaganda on administrative reform and the two-level government model, helping people access public services conveniently and quickly.
