On June 22, Lam Dong Provincial Department of Home Affairs requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment and Bao Lam District People's Committee to coordinate in handling the contents related to the forest loss incident that occurred in Loc Bao Commune (Bao Lam District).
Previously, on May 8, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned two agencies to inspect, review and clarify responsibilities related to the forest loss in Loc Bao commune; requested to organize a review and strict handling, report before June 19.
Lam Dong province also assigned the Department of Home Affairs to monitor, urge and guide the above two agencies to implement. However, up to now, the two units have not yet reported the results to the Department of Home Affairs.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong, in 2012, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Bao Lam district to prepare procedures for handing over land and forests to the community of village 2 and village 3 (Loc Bao commune) for management and beneficiation, with a total area of hundreds of hectares.
In 2023, the authorities inspected, reviewed and assessed the current status of forest resources and discovered that nearly 57 hectares were lost.
In February 2025, the authorities identified 9 leaders and civil servants of Bao Lam District Forest Protection Department as responsible for the loss of nearly 57 hectares of forest and organized disciplinary action.
