On the afternoon of July 16, Mr. Tran Ba Toan - Chairman of Hai Ninh Ward People's Committee said that after about 20 hectares of mangrove forest in the coastal area near the Hai - Ha - Thu dike in Hai Ninh ward died in 2022, specialized departments came to take samples for analysis and find the cause.
However, to date, this mangrove forest area, mainly dead sea urchin trees, has not yet been replaced by reforestation.
According to Mr. Tran Ba Toan, the local government and functional sectors of Ha Tinh have proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to implement a replacement forest planting project in the mangrove forest area that died in Hai Ninh ward.
Accordingly, it is proposed to plant about 20 hectares of mangrove forest in Hai Ninh ward in the period 2026 - 2027.
According to the Chairman of Hai Ninh Ward People's Committee, the locality really hopes that the replacement forest planting will be approved and implemented soon to contribute to protecting the ecological environment, creating an environment for the development of aquatic resources, promoting the function of coastal protection forests and protecting the key Hai - Ha - Thu sea dike.

Not only the government but also the people of Hai Ninh ward have long proposed urgently planting forests to replace the area of coastal mangrove forest in Hai Ninh ward that has died.
Because, after that forest area is completely destroyed, slow replacement forest planting, aquatic resources decrease significantly, affecting people's livelihoods.
Furthermore, the death of mangrove forests loses its protective effect, causing storms and strong waves in the rainy season, posing a risk of damaging the key Hai - Ha - Thu dyke line.
