On the afternoon of May 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) accompanied the Alibaba.com e-commerce platform to organize the Conference "Outstanding Vietnam: Steadfastly promoting gold - Reaching the world".
Through the program, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam are advised on performance assurance packages - a specialized solution to help businesses transform globally effectively and flexibly.
According to statistics from Research and Markets, the scale of the B2B e-commerce market (enterprise to enterprise) is estimated to reach 20,900 billion USD by 2027.
According to the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), more than 53% of Vietnamese enterprises expressed their desire to increase exports via e-commerce channels.
That reality forces Vietnamese SMEs to seek effective solutions to bring products and goods from Vietnam to major markets around the world.
Sharing at the event, Ms. Ho Thi Quyen - Deputy Director of ITPC emphasized the opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises in the field of e-commerce, when consumers tend to shop on cross-border platforms. In addition, the growth rate of e-commerce is always at double digits, higher than the overall economic growth rate.

For Vietnam, in the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam's total import-export turnover of goods reached over 276 billion USD, up 15.7% over the same period in 2024, export turnover reached 140 billion USD, up 13% over the same period. Vietnam's main export products are mainly agricultural products, textiles, electronic products, etc.
Ms. Quyen also cited data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade showing that in early 2025, the Ministry received 725 new registration applications for websites and new e-commerce platforms. That shows that e-commerce is growing, becoming an almost indispensable trend for businesses.
Meanwhile, Mr. Young Liu, Country Director of Alibaba.com Vietnam emphasized that with this new direction, SMEs in Vietnam are equipped with the ability to overcome all fluctuations in the global market, turning trade challenges into breakthrough opportunities.
Also at the conference, Mr. Tran Chuc Cuong - founder of Silver Pine - a traditional furniture manufacturing unit specializing in high-quality pine wood and glue wood products shared some experiences. The successful application of the performance assurance package has helped this enterprise expand its operations to many major markets such as the US, Germany, UK and Canada.
Meanwhile, Mr. Steven Selikoff - an American expert provided practical perspectives on how US buyers search for suppliers, why Vietnam is becoming a priority destination in the supply chain, and strategies to help Vietnamese businesses build sustainable relationships with international customers.
