On November 15, information from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health said that it had sent a document to Tri Duc Thanh General Hospital (in Yen Dinh district, Thanh Hoa province) requesting an urgent meeting of the professional council to evaluate the case of a child patient who died of unknown cause.
According to a quick report from Tri Duc Thanh General Hospital, at 7:31 a.m. on November 14, patient T.K.Ng. (7 years old, residing in village 5, Xuan Truong commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province) was brought to the hospital by his family in a state of vomiting and difficulty breathing.
Upon admission to the hospital, the patient was conscious, had no fever, vomited a lot, had difficulty breathing, or had chest pain. The hospital performed a chest X-ray, blood count, and electrolytes, and found no abnormalities.
Through preliminary diagnosis, the child had an intestinal infection caused by other bacteria. The hospital treated him with fluid replacement and digestive enzymes.
At 12:27 p.m. on November 14, the patient experienced chest tightness and difficulty breathing. Although the hospital quickly provided emergency treatment, the patient did not survive.
Immediately after the incident, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health directed Tri Duc Thanh General Hospital to urgently hold a professional council meeting to evaluate the reception, monitoring and treatment process.
Thereby, there will be conclusions and solutions, responses to families and press agencies, and reports on the results of the professional council meeting to the Department of Health before 12:00 on November 16.
