According to the court's notice, the asset survey was conducted at 9:00 AM on August 19, at house number 5 Doan Thi Diem, Cau Kieu ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
This is one of the procedural steps serving the process of resolving the case "Dispute over property inheritance, requesting the cancellation of a separate decision and demanding a house to live in" between the plaintiff, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung, and the defendant, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan.
The court requested the parties to be present on time and at the right location to ensure that the appraisal activities are carried out. Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan is responsible for bringing a Toyota car, license plate 52N-1798, in the name of Mr. Vo Van Ngoan - the real name of late NSUT Vu Linh - to the survey location. Ms. Loan must also support the appraisal unit to access house number 5 Doan Thi Diem and the car.
Relevant parties are responsible for coordinating and providing information, images, legal documents and necessary documents to organize appraisal to determine the value of assets according to regulations.
Previously, on the morning of August 10, Ms. Hong Nhung (ie, the plaintiff) and representatives of the appraisal unit came to house number 5 Doan Thi Diem to conduct the survey. However, this process could not be completed. The court's new notice re-determines the survey time, and specifically states the responsibility for coordination of the parties.
According to the first-instance judgment issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court on January 7, 2025, Ms. Hong Loan is identified as a legal adopted daughter, belonging to the first line of inheritance and the sole heir of the late artist Vu Linh at the time of opening inheritance.
The first-instance level determined that Ms. Hong Nhung contributed and took care of the family, so she was entitled to a value equivalent to 15% of the inheritance; the remaining 85% belonged to Ms. Hong Loan. The mentioned assets include a house at No. 5 Doan Thi Diem, more than 3,000m2 of land in the old Thu Duc City area and a car.
After the court's ruling, both Ms. Hong Loan and Ms. Hong Nhung appealed. Ms. Loan did not agree with deducting 15% of the inheritance value for Ms. Nhung. Meanwhile, Ms. Nhung proposed to reconsider Ms. Loan's inheritance status and some other contents in the judgment.
Because the case is being resolved according to the appellate procedure, the survey and valuation are aimed at supplementing the basis for the Trial Panel to comprehensively assess the disputed assets. The final result on the rights of the parties will depend on the effective judgment of the court.
