At about 1:30 a.m. the same day, people discovered a high fire in the middle of Binh Hang Tay market (Binh Hang Trung commune, Dong Thap province) and shouted to everyone to put out the fire. The fire broke out in kiosks displaying and selling fabric, clothes, school supplies, and fruits at the market.
At this time, people used all available measures on the spot to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Cao Lanh area mobilized many fire trucks and more than 20 officers and soldiers to urgently arrive at the scene.
Because the area where the fire broke out was kiosks displaying and selling flammable materials, the fire broke out fiercely. The fire fighting force divided into many directions, bringing hoses to approach, spraying water to put out the fire and preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent areas.
More than 20 minutes later, the fire was controlled. The task force continued to spray water to cool down, completely extinguish the fire, preventing it from breaking out again.
Initial statistics show that the fire did not cause any human casualties. The area where the fire broke out was 9 kiosks of about 125m2 of 7 traders at the market.
As soon as the incident occurred, the leaders of Binh Hang Trung Commune People's Committee were present in time to direct the Commune Police force to coordinate with the functional forces of the Provincial Police to put out the fire and examine the scene, and at the same time visit and encourage the affected small traders.
