HUE - A train locomotive in Hue suddenly caught fire due to a technical problem, fortunately there were no casualties.

On the afternoon of August 12, some Facebook accounts broadcast live the scene of a train car on fire. The authorities actively handled the incident in the presence of many curious people.

The video is said to have been recorded at Truoi Station (Loc An Commune, Hue City). After being posted, the video received great attention from the online community.

On the afternoon of August 12, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper over the phone, Mr. Le Trong Tung - Director of Thua Thien Hue Railway Exploitation Branch said that the incident was due to a technical problem at Truoi Station and had been separated from the train, so there was no serious impact.

"When the incident was discovered, the authorities coordinated to handle it quickly. This was not a fire or sabotage but a technical problem at the locomotive. Fortunately, there were no human casualties. We are currently working on the solution, and when there is an official report, we will inform the press specifically" - Mr. Tung affirmed.
