Quickly rebuilding a warm home in the mountains and forests of Tay Tra
Tay Tra mountainous commune is one of the particularly difficult localities of Quang Ngai province. During the floods in November, the whole commune had about 20 houses heavily damaged, including 6 completely collapsed houses, forcing people to evacuate and live temporarily for many days.
December 19, 2025 became a memorable "milestone" for Tay Tra people when 6 houses were simultaneously started construction, opening up hope for new homes after natural disasters. A joyful atmosphere spread throughout the village, from people to local authorities.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Hoang, Deputy Political Commissar of the Command of Area Defense Area 1 - Son Tinh, said that immediately after receiving orders from the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, the unit urgently sent 15 officers and soldiers to perform their duties. The entire process of field survey, selection of resettlement locations, and construction deployment took place quickly, in the "speedy" spirit of the Quang Trung Campaign.
To date, the "Quang Trung Campaign" in Tay Tra is entering the final stage. Officers and soldiers of the army and police participating in the campaign are speeding up progress, with the goal of handing over all houses to people before the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
Major Le Van Thinh, Military Assistant, Regiment 1 - Son Tinh Command, confided that being directly involved in building houses to help people is a joy and also a great responsibility of soldiers. "Where there is work, there are people. It is necessary to bring people the most solid and safe shelters. Each brick, each lacquered vessel contains the feelings of soldiers for the people," Major Thinh shared.
Tears of happiness before the Lunar New Year of the Horse
In Tra Nga village, Ms. Ho Thi Huong could not hide her emotion when continuously going in and out to admire the new house gradually being completed. “My family is grateful to the Party and the State for promptly caring for and supporting after the natural disaster. We hope to move to a new house every day, stabilize our lives, especially when the 2026 Binh Ngo Tet is approaching,” Ms. Huong said.

The obsession with the horrific landslide in November – when a large amount of soil and rock from the mountainside suddenly collapsed onto the old house, forcing Ms. Huong's whole family to flee for a moment, is now gradually fading away as a new home is being formed.
Sharing the same joy, Mr. Ho Van Xoay (50 years old, from the same village) shed tears when witnessing his family's 52m2 house being roofed. It is expected that on January 5, 2026, he will officially receive the house, ending a long series of days having to "stay with" relatives.
The old house collapsed, my family was almost empty-handed. Economic conditions did not allow it, so rebuilding the house seemed impossible. Thanks to the support of the State, that dream has now come true," Mr. Xoay said emotionally.
Mr. Truong Cong Lam, Chairman of Tay Tra Commune People's Committee, said that for more than 10 days, about 30 officers and soldiers have been working continuously, regardless of rain or shine. Up to now, the volume of projects in the locality has reached about 40% of the plan. "Houses imbued with military-civilian affection will be completed soon so that people can feel secure to enjoy spring and celebrate the traditional Tet," Mr. Lam said.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Hoang, as of December 30, the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command has mobilized more than 400 officers and soldiers to participate in supporting people in Quang Ngai and Dak Lak provinces within the framework of the "Quang Trung Campaign", building new and repairing houses for households affected by natural disasters. In Quang Ngai alone, 45 new houses have been built and 13 houses have been repaired.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
