On the afternoon of January 24, information from the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police said that they are verifying and investigating to clarify the cause of the boat fire on the Can Giuoc River, the section bordering between Can Giuoc and Tan Tap communes.
According to initial information, at 2:30 PM on the same day in the Can Giuoc River area, adjacent to Can Giuoc and Tan Tap communes, a boat fire occurred, causing 1 person to be burned and 2 people to be slightly injured. The vehicle owner is Mr. Nguyen Van Tai, residing in Vinh Long province.
Initial information, the cause of the fire was determined to be a gas cylinder explosion. The fire then quickly spread to the entire boat area, forming a large fire, with columns of smoke rising high on the river.
At the time of the incident, there were about 3 people on the boat, but when the fire was discovered and broke out strongly, the victims promptly left the boat.
However, 1 of the 3 people on the boat was burned in many places with a total area of more than 15%. The victim identified as LNTH (32 years old, Can Giuoc commune, Tay Ninh) was taken to the Can Giuoc Regional Medical Center for emergency and treatment, and 2 victims were slightly affected.
Immediately after receiving the news, the police quickly approached the scene, handled the incident, and coordinated with people in the area to organize firefighting, limiting the risk of fire spreading to vehicles and neighboring areas.
Currently, the fire is being further clarified by functional forces, statistics of damage and consolidation of records according to regulations.
